Tech Company Launches PH’s First Doctor’s Assistant Platform

The country’s first AI-powered doctor’s assistant platform aims to make preventive healthcare more accessible to Filipinos.
Filipino tech company 1Life Inc. has launched the Philippine’s first-ever doctor’s assistant platform in a medical mission in Barangay Sta. Lucia in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Known as DocMate AI, the doctor’s assistant platform is designed to help doctors diagnose with unmatched speed and accuracy using the latest Machine Learning (ML) technology integrated into their Doctor’s Patient Management Systems.
“Technology has proven itself to be a tool with limitless possibilities to transform healthcare,” said 1Life Inc. President Niño Namoco. “With the introduction of DocMate AI, we further our vision in ensuring access to quality care can be within reach for Filipinos, particularly those from geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.”
“Having served nearly one million patients from Aparri to General Santos City, including isolated islands and mountain communities, 1Life is committed to reaching every Filipino in need, regardless of location or income,” he added.

How DocMate AI can help doctors
DocMate AI assists doctors in analyzing patients’ data, including diagnostic tests, family history, vital statistics, and other relevant healthcare information. It then generates suggested diagnoses to help reduce doctor workload, cut errors, and lower costs.
In order for the platform to perform these tasks, 1Life utilizes AI integration in its services. However, the company assures that findings from its platform are still validated and administered by its doctors and healthcare professionals, which ensures effective diagnoses and patient care.
“Our AI Doctor Assistant platform is designed to bridge this divide by providing instant medical assessments, symptom analysis, and treatment recommendations, ensuring Filipinos receive timely healthcare guidance,” said Namoco.
“By leveraging AI, we can support overburdened healthcare workers, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and extend medical services to remote communities—helping to alleviate the doctor shortage and improve healthcare access nationwide,” he explained.

Addressing the gap in healthcare
1Life recognizes the challenges and gaps in the Philippine healthcare system. In the future, the company hopes to utilize DocMate AI in assisting local government units to provide enhanced yet faster healthcare service. Doing so can see decongested health centers and lower costs through early intervention.
In addition to this, 1Life is committed to enhancing access to preventive care for many Filipinos by harnessing the power of AI. Through DocMate AI, the company aims to tackle the so-called “four-day problem” that patients typically face when seeking healthcare services.
Patients typically have to make multiple trips to healthcare providers, incurring transportation expenses and losing work days along the way. These often discourage patients from completing the process that can address their healthcare needs.
1Life aims to address this challenge by condensing the experience into just a single one-hour visit, leveraging portable technology to deliver diagnostics, diagnoses, and medications efficiently and on-site. Additionally, the company’s AI-driven patient engagement tools offer individuals personalized diet and exercise plans, which further promote preventive care.
