27th Agency of the Year Awards Honors Filipino Advertising Legends
With the theme “Alamat,” the 27th Agency of the Year Awards honors the very best of Philippine advertising.
The 27th edition of the Agency of the Year (AOY) Awards is the industry’s biggest and most anticipated awards show. This year, the theme of the AOY Awards, as announced by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As), is Alamat.
Taking inspiration from the meaning of the word alamat, the 27th AOY puts the spotlight on Filipino creativity and excellence-inspiring agencies whose legendary work have made an impact on the industry, culture, and society.
“This year’s AOY reminds us how we all started in pushing excellence in Filipino advertising,” said AOY Chairman Eugene Manalo. Manalo is likewise the Managing Partner & Chief of Emerging Platforms & Data at The Huddle Room.
How the Theme Will Come to Life at the 27th AOY
Consistent with this year’s theme, the 27th AOY brings Alamat to life in every detail of the show. According to Creative Panel Head Maki Correa, “The design is inspired by woodblock printing to give it a feel of early Filipino legends–illustrated in black and gold to make it distinctly AOY.”
“Each award category is designed to represent a different Alamat—with intricate artwork symbolizing the diverse disciplines that make up the industry,” Correa added.
This year’s key visual highlights the Baybayin, as well as the the iconic AOY trophy designed by 4As Chairman Melvin Mangada, Chairperson and CCO of TBWA\SMP.
