Maya earned top honors at the 2025 PR Awards Asia-Pacific for its bold approach to digital, inclusive and relevant banking.

Maya, the country’s #1 digital bank, took the top awards from this year’s PR Awards Asia-Pacific. The prestigious awards show, which was organized by Campaign Asia, honors the most impactful and creative public relations work across the region. Maya was recognized twice, taking Gold in the PR Event category and Silver in the Best Brand Strategy category.

Pepe Torres, Maya Group Chief Marketing Officer, spoke about the wins, saying, “Great marketing begins with a great product, and at Maya, we build both with purpose. We tell our story with the boldness and heart of a brand that listens—making digital banking feel relevant, inclusive, and delightful.” The Business Manual interviewed Pepe Torres last June, weeks after Maya’s triumphant win in Hong Kong. In the full interview, he spoke about the winning campaign which featured actress Liza Soberano.

The Winning Campaign: Get Banked with Maya

Maya won both of its PR Awards Asia-Pacific for its work in the campaign “Get Banked with Maya.” The launch event won the company a gold award in the PR Event category, while the campaign strategy won the company a silver award in the Best Strategy category.

Campaign: Get Banked with Maya

Objective of the Campaign: “Get Banked with Maya” brought financial empowerment to Filipinos, many of whom are unbanked or unhappily banked. This market has long been underserved by traditional banking.

Target of the Campaign: The campaign spoke to the “new majority”—Filipinos who live digitally and want more control over their money.  The “Get Banked with Maya” campaign featured global icons Liza Soberano and Dolly de Leon to connect to a younger and bolder audience on their terms.

Why the Campaign Worked: “Get Banked with Maya” reflects a deeper shift in how brands grow—through meaningful experiences, behavioral design, and cultural relevance. Maya delivered this through its intuitive app and bold marketing efforts. But more importantly, it created everyday moments to help Filipinos build better money habits with confidence.
