How the ‘Pambasang Crypto Coach’ is Guiding Fellow Traders Towards Success

Cryptocurrency can be intimidating for the uninitiated, but a trader known as Coach Miranda Miner has made it his mission to guide Filipino traders. 

2025 is shaping up to be a good year for cryptocurrency in the Philippines. According to Statista, the number of cryptocurrency users in the country is expected to reach 10.55 million this year. In addition, Department of Finance Secretary Ralph Recto said that Filipinos have already invested around PHP 6 trillion in crypto. 

As much as it can be an enticing investment, it also can be intimidating and confusing for those who are unfamiliar with it. It is therefore important for those interested to invest to have a good grasp of what it is and how it works. 

This is where Arlone Abello comes in. Also known as Coach Miranda Miner, he is the Founding Chairman of the Innovative Movement of the Philippine Association of Crypto Traders (IMPACT) and CEO of Global Miranda Miner Group (GMMG). Abello has made it his mission to educate Filipinos when it comes to trading and crypto, earning him the nickname “Pambansang Crypto Coach.” 

Starting in the Corporate World 

Before getting into crypto, Abello spent over 15 years in the corporate world, taking different operation roles and high-level positions. He was previously the vice president and global director of a firm that supports the global operations of Google. He also served as the senior director of operators in a telecommunications company. 

“During these years, I became a strategist, a leader, and a problem solver,” he said about the years he spent working in corporate. “Overseeing a team of 3,000 people, my day revolved around balancing  the needs of clients, the company, and the employees.”

Despite his success, curiosity pushed him to take on a new challenge, which came in the form of understanding the broader financial operations and market. This was when he set his sights on trading. 

By 2016, Abello had explored the stock market and even developed his own trading system. Still, these were not enough to match his appetite for growth. Abello then discovered cryptocurrency. 

Discovering Cryptocurrency

“I’ve always been a technology native,” Coach Miranda admitted. “But when I discovered blockchain, it wasn’t just the technology that fascinated me—it was what it could do. 

He added, “Seeing its real-world impact, I knew I had found the perfect intersection of my two passions.”

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and remote work became the trend for countless people around the world, Abello found the opportunity to immerse himself in trading while still maintaining his full-time job. 

“2020 was pre-bull season. It was the time when we saw market optimism and prices building upward,” he recalled. “As I worked remotely, I was able to grow and develop my passion for crypto and trading. During this time, I was able to position myself ahead for a potential bull run.”

One year later, the trader many know as Coach Miranda took a leap of faith and left his corporate job to fully embrace crypto and start his own company. 

Mentoring the Next Generation of Traders 

Abello went on to set up GMMG, an educational platform that seeks to help traders make well-informed decisions in their trading journey. Providing traders real support and guidance, GMMG became the avenue through which he was able to put together his knowledge and experience in trading operations to help other people navigate the volatile world of cryptocurrency.

“GMMG was built from the core Filipino value ‘malasakit.’ At GMMG, we take on the role of mentors and guides, not just for Filipino traders, but for traders around the world,” Abello explained. “It’s more than just education; it’s about commitment and support.”

His efforts in changing the game for Filipino traders has earned him accolades, including certification as a Technical Analyst by the Society of Technical Analysts and the Best Trading Advisor of 2023 award from the international award-winning body Traders’ Fair.

He also has a network of over 30,000 mentees and a growing audience of more than 400,000 followers across all social media. Despite the success, he continues to build an avenue where Filipino traders learn and grow together. 

What Traders Can Learn from Coach Miranda

If there is one thing that’s for sure in the world of cryptocurrency, it’s that it will always be volatile. Some days will be good, and some days will be bad. For Abello, it is crucial for traders to not lose their head amidst all of it. 

“In the world of cryptocurrency, having the trading skill sets is a must. The cryptocurrency industry is vast, complex, and, without the right knowledge, can easily overwhelm traders in the process,” said Abello. “That is why we wanted to guide traders, especially those who are just at the beginning of their journey, to make the path clearer and more structured for them.”

Beyond just teaching trading and other related knowledge, Abello teaches traders to be disciplined and to have a systematic approach that will ensure long-term success. With the goal of taking financial literacy in the country to the next level, he established IMPACT to foster a community that embraces innovation, values education, and advocates for responsible participation in the crypto market.
