These Women Leaders Are Helping FedEx Philippines Shape an Inclusive Future

FedEx Philippines is a proud advocate of its inclusive culture, and this is evident in the journeys of its women leaders.

Women’s Month may be over, but it does not mean celebrating remarkable women leaders must stop there. FedEx Philippines shares the stories of remarkable women leaders of the company who are actively shaping a more inclusive future for the entire logistics industry.

According to FedEx Philippines, these four women leaders illustrate how the company’s “People-Service-Profit” (PSP) philosophy, including its focus on equal opportunity for all, empowers employees to excel, regardless of gender, background, or role.

Maribeth Espinosa, FedEx Philippines Managing Director

Maribeth Espinosa, currently FedEx Philippines’ Managing Director, began her career as a Dangerous Goods agent. From there, she steadily rose through the ranks—driven by skill, teamwork, and an unshakable commitment to growth.

She credits much of her success to the FedEx PSP philosophy, which underscores the belief that when employees are valued and supported, they perform at their best. Through the PSP philosophy, she has exemplified leadership not only by making strategic decisions but also by cultivating future leaders through mentorship. This ensures each team member has the opportunity to grow and create an impact.

“FedEx policies and programs create a culture where employees feel safe, respected, and empowered,” Espinosa said.

Jenieryll Jomarie Mangalindan, FedEx Philippines Senior Manager of Operations

Senior Manager of Operations Jenieryll Jomarie Mangalindan started as an accountant but eventually found her calling in operations. The FedEx culture, known for promoting inclusivity and personal growth, has helped her transition smoothly from her original field.

Today, she manages a team of over 200 people. She leads with a style that revolves around effective project management, which she believes is enriched by diversity.

“Each team member brings unique strengths to the table, enabling us to achieve operational excellence together,” she said, underscoring how the company’s inclusive environment paves the way for innovation and efficiency.

Anne Marie Liwag-Inawat, FedEx Philippines Senior Manager for Sales

Senior Manager of Sales Anne Marie Liwag-Inawat also started out as an accountant. Her journey exemplifies the company’s commitment to fostering a culture where desire for growth is nurtured and enabled.

She is known for her “Three-Question Rule,” which instills accountability and fosters a culture of self-driven growth as, under this approach, team members can seek her guidance on the same topic up to three times only. After that, team members are encouraged to use their own knowledge and problem-solving skills in order to find the best solution to their problems.

She likewise emphasizes the importance of setting a purposeful path for success because, for her, “It’s about making conscious choices, being decisive, and taking ownership of your career,” illustrating how FedEx’s culture supports individual ambition and nurtures self-driven growth.

Maria Isabel Novero-Benitez, FedEx Philippines Senior Manager for Customer Experience Operations

A veteran in the logistics industry with over two decades of experience, Senior Manager for Customer Experience Operations Maria Isabel Novero-Benitez leads with empathy, a value central to FedEx Purple Promise of making every FedEx experience outstanding.

“We don’t discriminate based on race, gender, religion, disability, or any other protected status – we look at their skillset, what they can contribute and how they can help in fulfilling our Purple Promise,” she explained. “Making sure that our people feel how much they matter inspires them, and inspired employees do better at their jobs.”

Aside from this, she utilizes data-driven insights and a commitment to continuous improvement to ensure that her team can meet and anticipate customer needs while also fostering an inclusive work environment for everyone.
