The Fraud Bureau aims to combat cybercrime, particularly fraud, through the collaboration of the different stakeholders of the financial sector.

CIBI Information Inc., the Philippines’ first and only local credit bureau, has launched the Fraud Bureau. The launch of the Fraud Bureau is CIBI’s response to the urgent need for a coordinated, data-driven approach to fight cybercrime

A collaborative initiative that unites banks, fintechs, and financial institutions, the Fraud Bureau allows collaborators to share data on potentially deceptive applicant activity securely. Among the data that can be securely shared are watchlist or blacklist information, as well as details from incoming applications and inquiries.

“The significant increase in fraudulent activity highlights the urgent need for coordinated action,” said CIBI President and CEO Pia Arellano. “CIBI recognizes that data-driven collaboration is essential to tackling fraud—an insight that helped shape the Bureau’s framework and mission.”
