Payoneer Empowers Filipino Businesses at VIP Connect Manila
A financial platform for cross-border business and global payments, Payoneer reiterates its support for Filipino businesses.
Global fintech leader Payoneer reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Filipino businesses of all sizes at its annual VIP Connect event in Manila.
With the theme “20 Years of Empowering Businesses to Go Global,” the gathering brought together founders, CEOs, CFOs, and growth leaders from across e-commerce, IT, marketing, and healthcare sectors.
The event highlighted Payoneer’s role in enabling seamless cross-border payments and supporting the global expansion of all businesses.
A Strategic Market for Growth
The Philippines continues to stand out as a global outsourcing hub and a priority market for Payoneer.
With a deep talent pool and a booming digital services sector, the country plays a pivotal role in promoting cross-border businesses.
The Philippines’ Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) sector garnered $38 billion, employed 1.82 million professions, and contributed 9% to the country’s Gross Domestic Product in 2024.
Over the past four years, IT-BPM has remained one of the country’s top-performing industries and a leading source of job creation.
To sustain this momentum, the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines pushes for policy reforms focused on upskilling the workforce and strengthening the industry’s global competitiveness.
Gig Workers and the Rise of Remote Talent
With over 1.5 million gig workers, the Philippines has become a global go-to destination for remote talent.
“The country’s rich talent pool and fast-growing outsourcing industry make it a vital hub for global business, and we are here to ensure Filipino entrepreneurs have the tools and support to thrive on the world stage,” said Monique Avila, Payoneer’s Head of Customer Success for APAC.
Now in its 20th year globally, Payoneer enables seamless cross-border payments in over 190 countries and territories, across 10 currencies with access to global markets and Filipino businesses worldwide, according to Avila.
In the Philippines, Payoneer has been supporting local businesses for nine years, helping them expand globally through trusted payment infrastructure and financial solutions.

Introducing Payoneer Workforce Management
Payoneer also unveiled its latest innovation, Payoneer Workforce Management (WFM)—a comprehensive solution designed to simplify hiring, onboarding, and paying remote workers across more than 160 countries without the need to establish a local entity.
Formerly known as Skuad, Payoneer WFM guarantees compliance with local employment laws and offers benefits such as insurance, workspace access, visa documentation, and payroll. It is a one-stop platform for building global teams with speed, flexibility, and confidence.
In addition, Payoneer’s partners gain access to a global network of over one million skilled professionals, opening up new avenues for growth.
According to Tarun Gadhok, Senior Director of Account Management WFM at Payoneer, “Workforce Management is a natural extension of what Payoneer already does best—removing barriers for businesses to operate globally.”
Accelerating Global Payments
As part of its commitment to innovation, Payoneer has enhanced platform features to help global entrepreneurs get paid faster, smarter, and more seamlessly.
These include branded tax-compliant invoicing, quicker bank withdrawals, and smarter FX tools with real-time USD-to-PHP alerts.
All these upgrades enable Filipino businesses to better manage their operations with greater speed, ease, and confidence.
