The event recognized not only established agencies, but also the next wave of Filipino talent.

The Philippines’ leading figures in marketing and advertising gathered to celebrate creativity, collaboration, and innovation at the Boomerang Awards 2025, held on October 17 at the Sheraton Manila Hotel in Pasay City.

Organized by the Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines (DMAP), the event recognized the best in digital marketing, advertising, and tech-driven campaigns in the country–honoring brands, agencies, and professionals who push for next-level creativity and innovation.

Leading the night’s roster of winners were GIGIL and MullenLowe TREYNA, both of which have become synonymous with bold, culturally resonant storytelling.

GIGIL, which won 2 Golds, 3 Silvers, 2 Bronzes, 1 Grand Prix, and the Black Boomerang for Short-Form Videos, was also named Agency of the Year. The agency also won the Tech Innovator of the Year award.

MullenLowe TREYNA, on the other hand,  bagged nine awards, including 3 Golds, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze, and a Grand Prix for its “Perspective Billboards” campaign for Closeup Toothpaste.  It likewise won the White Boomerang for Pivotal Transformation, the Green Boomerang for Sustainability, and the Boomerang’s Best of Show award.

“This is a great combination of hard work, collaboration, and passion,” said DMAP President Miko David as he welcomed participants to the event. “I’m so happy with the results and with this event that continues to celebrate the creativity, resilience, and innovation of Filipino digital professionals who push boundaries every year.”

Rising Stars and Global Stages

The Boomerang Awards, however, is not just about honoring established names. Through DMAP’s Sari-Sari Digital Youth Competition (DYC) 2025, it also shines the spotlight on exemplary next-generation digital storytellers.

The Sari-Sari DYC 2025 is a celebration of young digital talents that brings together a dynamic mix of creative professionals and emerging innovators who embody the spirit of diversity in the industry.

Among the evening’s highlights was the announcement of the winners of the Young Lotus and Young Innova competitions, who will represent Filipino digital excellence on the global stage.

“The brief was tough but exciting; it made us think beyond the usual,” said Mangahas. “Winning Gold and representing the Philippines at SXSW 2026 feels surreal. We’re thrilled to learn, connect, and bring that global perspective back home.”

“It’s an incredible honor,” added Carunungan. “Competing again after years in the industry reminded me how fun and rewarding this work can be. I’m proud to represent our team and the local creative community on the SXSW stage.”

Also among those recognized in the Young Innova Category were Vinnie Pacleb and James Mendoza of TBWA\SMP, along with Trixie Boñales and Jox Gonzales of Dentsu Creative Philippines.

This year’s Boomerang Awards also introduced a unique symbol of recognition. Designed by MOLD, the Boomerang 2025 trophies were crafted as jars filled with miniature replicas of iconic global awards, symbolizing the winners’ “sari-saring awards.”

“These trophies perfectly capture what the Boomerang Awards stand for,” said David. “They remind us that creativity comes in many forms, and tonight, we’re honoring the sari-saring ideas that continue to elevate the Philippine digital industry. The work we celebrate tonight reflects our collective drive to tell meaningful stories, powered by collaboration and innovation.”

A Benchmark for Digital Excellence

Through every campaign, pitch, and presentation, the Boomerang Awards 2025 inadvertently sends a clear message: Filipino creativity is thriving. Whether through award-winning agencies like GIGIL and MullenLowe TREYNA or through promising young teams preparing to represent the country abroad, the local digital industry continues to push boundaries, blending creativity and technical skill with cultural intuition.

Moreover, the Boomerang Awards 2025 has reaffirmed its role as the country’s benchmark for digital excellence, spotlighting emerging Filipino talent poised to make a global impact in 2026.
