Here’s What to Know About the New GCash Feature: GStocks PH
GCash users who are interested in buying, selling, and managing their own stocks can now do so—thanks to its newest feature.
With more than 60 million registered users nationwide, GCash is one of the most popular fintech platforms here in the country. Through the years, it has become more than just an e-wallet as millions of Filipinos use the app to pay bills, save money, send and receive money—and even plant trees!
Yes—you can use GCash to buy, sell, and manage your own stocks, thanks to its newest feature.
The fintech platform has announced the rollout of GStocks PH, its latest feature offered by AB Capital Securities, Inc. (ABCSI)—the oldest stockbroker firm in the Philippine Stock Exchange with over 65 years of trading experience. This online retail securities trading service can easily be accessed by GCash users via its app.
As the platform aims to provide Filipinos with a financially safe future, its newest feature seeks to empower users to learn more about stock investments.
What is GStocks PH?
Traditionally, dealing with stocks involves working with brokers and stock traders who will help you—the investor—buy and sell your stocks in the market. However, this is not the case when you use the GStocks PH feature.
By giving you full control over your transactions and what you choose to invest in, GStocks PH allows you to make personal transactions and invest via the GCash app. The feature also lets you easily top up or withdraw for free with ease and convenience, too.
How to Use GStocks PH?
Accessing and using the feature is straightforward and easy to do. First, you have to open the GCash app, look for GInvest, and select GStocks PH.
Once you have done that, tap “Get Started” to register for a basic account and select “AB Capital Securities, Inc.” as their broker. Enter the necessary details and make sure to review them. You will then be asked to provide a sample signature.
Completing the registration of your account will allow you to top up, withdraw, buy, and even sell stocks. However, do note that Philippine Stock Exchange trading hours are followed. Trading takes place from Mondays to Fridays, from 9 AM to 3 PM. This, however, does not apply to all Philippine non-working holidays, so make sure to check from time to time.
It is also important to note that top-up amounts are credited to your ABSCI trading wallet by the next banking day. Withdrawable cash, on the other hand, will be transferred to GCash wallets within two banking days.
How is This Beneficial to GCash Users?
Stock trading can be intimidating to many people, especially those who do not have enough knowledge or experience in it. GCash’s latest feature makes the process of buying stocks easier to learn and manage for both first-time and experienced investors alike.
The new feature also makes it easier for you to manage your finances. As the app contains features that allow you to save, invest, and keep track of your money, you can better plan and prepare for your financial growth.
