Sharyn Wong Retires After 32 Years With Estée Lauder

Sheryn Wong is known for her exceptional leadership and commitment to delivering programs with social impact.

Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has announced the retirement of Sharyn Wong, the Country General Manager for Philippines and Vietnam. Wong has been with ELC for 32 years.

“She will be missed deeply by those that have been fortunate enough to work with her,” SVP for Asia-Pacific Antoine Gizardin said in a statement. “Please join me in thanking Sharyn for her many contributions to the company, and in wishing her all the best in this next chapter of her life.

While her last day will be on June 30, 2025, a successor has yet to be introduced by the company. The announcement will be made in due course, according to Gizardin.

Sharyn Wong’s Career at ELC

Wong joined ELC in 1999 as a sales executive in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Throughout her career, she was able to move across brands and roles, spanning sales, marketing, and general management.

She joined the company’s Travel Retail business in 2014 before being promoted to Vice President and General Manager of Travel Retail, Asia-Pacific, three years later. In her role as VP/GM, Wong expanded the ELC portfolio in Japan, Korea, and Oceania markets.

Wong then relocated to New York City in 2019 to take on the role of Vice President and General Manager, International, for the Origins brand. She was tasked with strengthening brand equity across all international markets, among other responsibilities.

She returned to the Asia-Pacific region in 2021 to take on her current role as Country General Manager, Philippines Affiliate. Leveraging her strong business skills and commercial expertise honed through years of experience, she was able to expand ELC’s brand portfolio and drive brand equity, which she also did for the Vietnam market when she assumed responsibility for it just last year.

Wong has been a consistent leader for others, particularly when it comes to championing talent as well as women’s advancement. Through her mentorship and the opportunities she has been able to create for others, she has helped unleash the potential of those around her.

A Leader Who Creates Impact Inside and Outside the Company

According to Gizardin, Wong “has been recognized as a well-respected, insightful and results-driven leader.” Beyond the skills and experience she has shown in her different leadership positions, she likewise exhibited a strong commitment to ELC’s social impact programs.

In particular, Wong has been credited for driving success around the Breast Cancer Campaign, leveraging her strong media and retailer partnerships in order to increase awareness about the cause. The exposure and fundraising she was able to provide for the campaign has been able to bring tangible change for women.

Wong, according to Gizardin, “has always used her voice and influence to create impact.”

Sharyn Wong exemplifies the kind of leadership that is not just about excellence. Her leadership and guidance have uplifted those around her, providing inspiration for others to strive for themselves. She is a true example of a leader who serves others, even those outside the walls of the company.
