Herbalife Family Foundation Champions Child Development Through NGO Grants

These grants are a testament to Herbalife’s commitment to creating not just healthier but also more inclusive communities in the Philippines.

Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), the philanthropic arm of health and wellness company Herbalife, has announced that it has given PHP 8.7 million in grant to two nonprofit organizations, SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas and Tuloy Foundation.

The grant is part of the Casa Herbalife Program, which is a global initiative by HFF that collaborates with different community organizations in order to provide children and underserved communities the following:

  • Educational resources
  • Nutritious meals
  • Safe environments

“Good nutrition is at the heart of a healthy future,” said Herbalife Philippines General Manager Allan Domingo. “HFF is honored to play a part in SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas and Tuloy Foundation’s mission to provide children with not just meals, but also a safe and nurturing environment where they can learn and grow.”

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to empowering communities through nutrition and education,” Domingo added.

SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas

The grant awarded to SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas directly benefits 217 children. It helps ensure that these children are receiving proper nutrition. It is likewise used to equip them with essential life skills that will be beneficial to them as they grow older.

“This generous grant from the Herbalife Foundation has been instrumental in ensuring that the children in our care receive the nourishment they need to grow, learn, and thrive,” said Romil I. Rayos Del Sol, Deputy National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas.

Additionally, the grant supports mental health programs and strengthens advocacy initiatives through the Children’s Month Celebration, themed “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines.”

Aside from these, the grant enables the adequate training of caregivers, equipping them with the necessary skills to promote a healthier lifestyle among children.

“Beyond food security, it strengthens our advocacy for children’s rights and helps us equip our caregivers with vital skills to promote holistic well-being,” Rayos Del Sol explained.

Tuloy Foundation

As for Tuloy Foundation, the grant is used to provide food subsidies so that 200 children can receive daily nutritious meals. The grant is likewise used for the foundation’s garden initiative, which teaches children how to grow their own vegetables.

“At Tuloy Foundation, we believe in more than just feeding children—we empower them with the knowledge and skills to sustain themselves in the future,” said Tuloy Foundation Founder and President Fr. Marciano “Rocky” Evangelista.

“With HFF’s support, our aquaponics initiative is not only providing nutritious meals but also instilling valuable life lessons in self-reliance and responsibility,” Fr. Evangelista added.

HFF’s Commitment to a Healthier Future

With a mission that ensures that no child is left behind, HFF continues to address the nutritional needs as well as the holistic development of children. For the 2024-2025 term, HFF has awarded $5 million (approximately PHP 286 million) in grants globally that benefited 164 nonprofit organizations across 59 countries and territories.

The grants received by SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas and Tuloy Foundation are a testament to HFF’s unwavering commitment not just to creating healthier communities, but also ones that are more  inclusive.

“The impact of these grants goes beyond nutrition; they help shape a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and supportive environment. We are proud to be part of this journey towards building a healthier Philippines,” said Domingo.
