Candy Dizon Takes Charge as the New Editor-in-Chief of Lifestyle Asia

This August, Lifestyle Asia welcomes its new editor-in-chief: Candy Dizon—a multi-talented jeweler, writer, and storyteller in her own right.

When you think of luxury living, socialite news and stories of the rich and wealthy, Lifestyle Asia automatically comes to mind. A prestigious magazine title under the One Mega Group of companies, it has gone over and beyond in exemplifying luxury living for over 30 years by weaving stories about society’s personalities, art, culture, fashion, and the accouterments of refined and gracious living.

This August, Lifestyle Asia will be welcoming its newest editor-in-chief: Candy Dizon. A writer, jeweler, businesswoman, mom, and more, she is a multi-hyphenated girl boss who best exemplifies the brand—not just because of her wealth of stories to share, but because of her connections and expertise in navigating through the social circles of high society.

Despite having big shoes to fill, she is confidently ready for the challenge. “Being offered the position of editor-in-chief is a major challenge, but taking on big challenges offers the best rewards. It is an honor and a privilege to be part of the Lifestyle Asia family,” Dizon prefaces before her maiden issue.

Meet Candy Dizon

As one of the country’s most renowned jewelers, Candy Dizon is no stranger to the Philippine luxury scene. By taking on the reins of her late mother’s empire, she—together with her siblings Cedric, Janina, Christopher, and sisters-in-law Lucille and Ginny—handles Jul B. Dizon Jewelry. A jewelry brand that has been making waves with its use of colored gemstones and innovative design, it has become a legacy brand that has stood the test of time.

But going beyond the glitz and glamor of jewelry, Dizon is also a writer and storyteller by nature. As a fashion contributor to Lifestyle Asia’s stablemate, she is one of the top columnists of OneMega.com (OMC). In her monthly features, she gives readers a glimpse of the lives of many influential personalities and business figures.

How so? By going straight to the source and masterfully writing their stories—from fashion finds to tidbits about their line of work, styling tips, and more—which she can achieve flawlessly through her connections, skills, and years of experience.

Candy Dizon: Perfect for the Job

A steadfast presence that has exemplified the brand even before taking on the role of editor-in-chief, Archie Carrasco, the CEO of One Mega Group, believes that Dizon is the perfect person for this new direction. “Candy has grown with Lifestyle Asia. She has been featured countless times in the magazine. One can say that Lifestyle Asia is genuinely in her DNA,” he shares enthusiastically.

“Aside from her status in society and the industry, family background, and global connections, Candy is at a point in her life where she wants to give back and provide meaningful content, beyond luxury living, to the next generation.”

As a constant figure who is familiar with the workings of the magazine brand, the team believes that Dizon will take on the role with ease and grace. “Candy and her family have appeared in Lifestyle Asia numerous times and have grown up with the brand,” says Peewee Isidro–Reyes, Vice President for Content of One Mega Group.

“Her experience and expertise in bespoke luxury pieces have allowed her mastery of what appeals to the market. Aside from her know-how in jewelry, her fine taste is innate and includes points of interest such as travel, fashion, and home— pillars that make up the brand,” she adds.

Taking Luxury to New Heights

With the country’s first luxury publication under her wing, Dizon will definitely continue Lifestyle Asia’s pursuit of introducing people of substance and experiences that readers have yet to explore—something she has accomplished in her column at OMC.

Just like how she modernized her late mother’s heritage jewelry brand, Dizon is the perfect person for the job, as she brings many new things to the table. “Lifestyle Asia is the oldest magazine in the country and has been led by well-respected editors since the beginning,” says Carrasco. “With the brand’s new direction to go global, there are many tasks to be accomplished. I need someone dedicated to the brand to ensure our vision becomes a reality.”

Under Dizon’s leadership, he adds that he’s optimistic about the publication soaring higher on the global stage. “I am excited and looking forward to experiencing the title from a new perspective. It’s time for a Filipino magazine to be seen worldwide, and with Candy Dizon at the helm, Lifestyle Asia will be the pioneer.”

“Aside from this, she is also adept with the emerging youth and cuts across generations,” Isidro adds. “She will definitely bring new energy to Lifestyle Asia. She is an accomplished creative who knows the value of meaningful storytelling and has a unique point of view. We are excited to see how she can take the brand further.”
