Brewing Business with Purpose: Koala Joe Coffee Introduces New Café Experience
A new player has entered the Philippine coffee scene—one that blends Australian café culture with Filipino warmth and a deep sense of purpose.
Koala Joe Coffee, a proudly Aussie-Filipino brand, officially opened its first coffee trailer at Clean Fuel Pioneer Street in Mandaluyong City. Behind the brand are husband-and-wife founders Richard and Jessica Everingham, whose entrepreneurial journey began with a shared dream to create a business built on faith, community, and gratitude.
Building a Purpose-Driven Brand
More than a coffee concept, Koala Joe Coffee was born from what Jessica refers to as a God-given vision — a purpose-led business anchored on the idea that one’s cup overflows. The brand’s tagline, “My Cup Overflows,” represents not just abundance but also the belief that business can be a force for good.
From the very beginning, the founders positioned Koala Joe Coffee as a brand that balances business growth with social responsibility. Through its “Cup with a Cause” initiative, a portion of every purchase supports the Kids for Jesus Foundation, which helps underprivileged children grow in faith and access better opportunities.

A Community-Backed Launch
The grand opening event reflected the brand’s community-driven spirit. It began with an invocation and dedication led by Pastor Patrick Chan, followed by inspiring messages from the founders and business partners Simon and Tet Greatwich. TV personality Kim Atienza led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, alongside other guests from the business, culinary, and creative industries, signaling the strong network of supporters behind the brand.
Coffee with Culture, Connection, and Vision
For the Everinghams, Koala Joe Coffee is more than just about selling coffee; it’s about cultivating meaningful experiences around it. The brand’s café-on-wheels format reflects a growing trend among modern entrepreneurs — embracing flexibility, accessibility, and scalability in business models.
“This is just the beginning because this little trailer is the first step to a vision to make it global,’” said Jessica Everingham during the launch.
The founders are already setting their sights on expanding their footprint to bring their signature mix of Australian-style coffee, Filipino hospitality, and Christian values to new markets.
A Taste of Australia, with a Filipino Twist
Koala Joe Coffee’s menu celebrates Australian café favorites reimagined with Filipino creativity. Offerings include the Koalaccino, Salted Caramel Tim Tam Frappe, and Iced Aussie Honey Pecan Latte. There’s also the Iced Sunshine Espresso, a refreshing fusion of espresso and orange juice, and the Fruit Fizz Collection featuring sparkling drinks with native-inspired flavors.

Dessert selections complete the experience, from Chocolate Lamingtons, which are available in unique flavors like Ube and Matcha, to ANZAC Chocolate Chip Cookies, a nod to Australia’s wartime history with a modern twist.
Brewing a Global Vision
With its combination of purpose, culture, and affordability, Koala Joe Coffee stands out in an increasingly crowded market. The brand’s strategy focuses on accessibility, offering “Koala-ty” coffee at prices that welcome everyone while promoting a business philosophy grounded in faith and community.
As Jessica puts it, “We believe in God’s Word that says, ‘Commit your plans to the Lord, and He will prosper it.’”
Koala Joe Coffee may have started as a small trailer in Mandaluyong, but its founders are thinking big—one cup, one community, and one purpose-driven brew at a time.
