Applications Now Open for Program Tackling Social, Environmental Challenges

Social enterprise incubator Villgro Philippines has opened applications for its Jugaad 2.0 program, which is open to young entrepreneurs in the Philippines.

Participants of the program will undergo capacity building workshops as well as a hackathon. 

Aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to apply for an upcoming program called Jugaad 2.0: Co-Create for Impact. Aiming to tackle social and environmental challenges through co-creation between young leaders and innovative corporations, the program seeks to empower young leaders to shape the future. 

Jugaad 2.0 will start on July 20, 2024, and the program is expected to end on September 7, 2024. Applications will be accepted until July 7, 2024, 11:59 p.m. 

Behind Jugaad 2.0 is social enterprise incubator Villgro Philippines. Armed with over two decades of experience “in the field of nurturing ambitious drivers of social change globally,” Villgro Philippines aims to utilize entrepreneurship to create meaningful social impact

Villgro Philippines seeks to mentor, fund, and nurture entrepreneurs who address the most pressing social issues through market-based models.

Application Requirements

Jugaad 2.0 aims to attract young leaders aged 18 to 30 years old from the following Southeast Asian nations: 

  • Indonesia
  • Philippines
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam 

Interested applicants must be proficient in English and have experience developing an impact organization or social enterprise. Those who have actively participated in impact work through volunteerism can likewise apply. 

It is important to note that applicants should be able to commit to a minimum of three days a week for the consultancy, which will take place from mid-July to August 2024.

What to Know About Jugaad 2.0 

Jugaad 2.0 will take place in two parts. The first part involves four to five capacity building workshops that are each two hours long. The immersive virtual workshops center on leadership skills, ideation, prototyping, and many more.

The second part of Juugad 2.0 is the hackathon, which is a three-week mentoring program. Participants will receive mentorship from corporate mentors and subject matter experts.
