Viva Communications, Inc. began in 1965 when the 20 year old Vic, who had dropped out of college, was invited by his cousin Orly Ilacad to join him in putting up a small record company. Ilacad, who was the frontman of a popular band, already knew numerous artists that they could sign, while Del Rosario had no knowledge of the industry or how to run a business.
