Pag-IBIG Partners With This Delivery App to Help Drivers Secure Their Future

Pag-IBIG has officially partnered with Lalamove to help their drivers attain financial stability, which will, in turn, help them reach their goals of having their own homes.

A study once conducted by the National Economic Development Authority revealed that around 79% of Filipinos aspire to live a simple and comfortable life in 2024 by having a medium-sized house. And given that the Residential Real Estate Price Index went up by 6.5% in the third quarter of 2022, people have seen significant increases in the price of properties.

Aside from the price increases in properties and inflation rates, it has become much harder for average Filipino workers to buy their own homes. With that in mind, some companies have stepped up to help in providing financial freedom and stability to their employees.

This includes the popular delivery app, Lalamove, which partnered with Pag-IBIG Fund to secure the future of its riders by helping them reach the goal of buying their own homes.

What The Partnership Covers

In the signed memorandum between Lalamove and Pag-IBIG fund, partner drivers will have access to various offers and Pag-IBIG services. This will give them a better chance to enjoy high-yield savings and apply for cash and housing loans.

“Pag-IBIG Fund’s primary objectives have always been centered on helping Filipinos earn from their savings and to attain their dream homes. We laud Lalamove for actively offering these benefits to its partner drivers. This is hopefully the first of many partnerships of this kind,” says Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene C. Acosta.

How will the drivers be able to access this? First, the partner drivers can simply go to Lalamove’s office or attend events and then find the assigned Pag-IBIG Fund personnel called Lingkod Pag-IBIG from there. Next, they can be assisted with services that include accessing their savings and/or applying for home financing.

Aside from giving the driver-partners access to the usual Pag-IBIG services, this collaboration also gives them a chance to win brand-new motorcycles, which will be given away in a raffle draw.

Providing Drivers with More Accessibility

Lalamove Philippines Managing Director Djon Nacarioshares how much he thinks that this partnership is a great way for them to achieve their shared vision with Pag-IBIG. “This partnership with Pag-IBIG Fund is part of our objective to continuously empower our partner drivers and help them through meaningful partnerships like this in turning their dreams into reality for themselves and their families,” he says.

“We now have a lot of partner drivers across Luzon and in Cebu who fulfill same-day motorcycle and truck delivery, ranging from those driving motorcycles, sedans, MPVs, pick-ups, and trucks (1,000KG, 2,000KG, 6-wheel wing van, and 10-wheel wing van),” he adds. “This community of hardworking individuals deserves nothing but the best services, and this is something that we will continue to do for them.”

One interesting feature of this collaboration is how it requires that the partner drivers be active Pag-IBIG members who have recent contributions. But even those who aren’t members can join as long, as they meet minimum contribution requirements.

Companies can learn from Lalamove and in turn, help their employees achieve financial stability through collaborations like this. Aside from encouraging employees to stay in the company, as this shows that their needs are being met, this works as a way to show employees the importance of the contributions that they are paying for.

That way, the drivers will know that the money they are putting into their respective Pag-IBIG accounts will be beneficial for them and their families.
